Fuck ... was just looking over the threads and couldn't believe i somehow missed reading this one! Too much pre-x-mas liquid cheer, i guess, ho, ho, ho ...

But seriously my not so far flung friend, thank you, and i wish you and your girls the absolute best Christmas and New Year! Your sharing and generosity is profound, as many can attest to. Keep the spirit and before you know it you'll be back to your usual two-legged tricks.

Best to you Dire ... T.

That reminds me, your 60 day trial period is up, so send me $49.99 + postage & handling, or I want my discs back.

Seriously, all the best to you and yours.

I'm hurt! I only got a 30 day trial then it cost me $59.99! What do I have to do to earn a little respect? Morph into Rodney Dangerfield???

Don't be too upset. Dire's credit card rejected and when I called they said something about the biggest buildup of unpaid charges from 1-800-SPANK ME that they've ever seen. Something to be proud of, I guess.

Mmmmm, I miss 800-spankme... ;)

Seriously though, Patrick, I wish you and your family the happiest of holidays!!! It is very good you are all together, even if it is here in the stinking desert! It's much better tha the one your son will be returning to... I think he and all of the kids in uniform overseas should have the first priority when we Grok next week!!!

Take care my friend, I always enjoy your posts, thoughtfull and meaningful! I do mean it, if you ever venture all the way out here to the east valley, let me know, I'd be pleased to meet you! Jon

PS I never did write little brother about the threatened Sedona trip... could be fun!

If you're doing what the docs say (meds, exercises, etc) how can you be expected to come around any faster? I hear our gender can be difficlt at times for the other sex, so this probably is something like that. If she bailed today, would you or I have been able to do much better if we were in her shoes? Things will go on-do your best and try to keep the kids happy and you are golden.

i could have been doing more according to her - and i really can't argue i guess - my smoking is one area of concern, but that is one thing that is real tough to tackle being laid up for five months. never can do enough sometimes i guess - story of my life - what else is new. just got to do what i can, make my kids happy, and try to keep a smile on my face - tough at times, but i try.

Yeah, that smoking can carry some heavy baggage with it. I smoked from 15-40 and finally quit. Dad was a heavy smoker and was starting to really pay for it health wise. So I figured if I smoked for 25 yrs then didn't smoke for 25 yrs then by the time I got to his age I would have smoked that much less than he did. Surely the smartest thing I ever did. Wife still smokes, thats her choice. Its fn tough though for sure. Had been a lifestyle since forever for me, part of who I was. Now its not.Hey, how about a little ho ho ho holiday spirit here. I have Black Seal Rum and Vernors Ginger Ale. Very smooth. Later Skipper. Just take a peak at that cartoon when ya need a chuckle. By the way- a 24 fan?

the smoking is next on the list to tackle - kids have been on my case about it, never mind everyone else (including myself). had quit for ten years and then started again - duh!!!!!. no, i am not the brightest bulb in the chandelier. plus, it is slowing down the healing process in bone growth - i'm as dumb as a stump. just can't seem to quit at the moment while laid up though - as stupid as that sounds.

anywho- not a 24 fan - requires too much concentration and weekly watching. many of my friends and family are though - i understand it is a great show. about the only show that seems to have a weekly "carry-over" that i watch is House. the CSI's and Law &Order's don't seem to have that week to week effect.

Well, if ya did it for 10 yrs ya can do it agin for another 10, then start back up again if you want. I thought since you like the ongoing House theme you might like 24. Try again as it starts again next month. Theres plenty of ways of stying up with episodes you miss (like ask me). We got hooked a couple yrs ago after missing the first 2-3 seasons. At some point it has to wear itself out, and that will suck. Find someone who has the first season or two on dvd and watch it when you can- if you can watch 2-3 back to back I think you'll find it enjoyable. Apparently the first seasons were the best. Later Skip and have a great Xmas eve!

Dire! Sometimes I just come on here to see how you're doing, my friend. I really want to send you not only best wishes of the Season but my heartfelt hopes for your recovery and who knows...maybe we'll all spark up together sometime soon. Hey, wouldn't that be even more fun than a virtual listening to a show? A virtual spark up! Then we play shows and sheck in...

I still haven't chosen my New Year's show yet but when I do I'll post for all...my big fat important decision. Been auditioning '85 and '71. Maybe I'll I'll do a Greatest New Year's hit this year. I also have '72 now which is a phenomenal show (45 minute Other One, ladies and gentlemen!)

All my best to you, Dire! May Angelina Jolie be your night nurse!

But here I am sending sincere thanks back your way for your friendship and wishing you and your girls the absolute best holiday!! Even in spite of your leg and not being on your feet, and even maybe your girlfriend losing patience, I hope your girls will help you to feel the magic of the season in their excitement!!
big hugs, ~Dancin'

thank dancin - the girls are gettin more and more psyched by the minute. I am so happy for them. Other things will work themselves out - will take time - 5 months is a long time for me to be like this and for a girlfriend to have to deal with it. I'm sure you can understand that being a woman.

p.s. i sure wish i could have answered the phone this morning in that mixup - would have totally blown your mind and given me a good laugh - i could have used it.

Yes, I think I can understand your girlfriend getting frustrated. Us women only have so much patience. This is just a hard time of the year to be dealing with everything at once, for both you and her. I can understand if you're feeling down in the dumps! But since I've got girls too, I know how much their excitement helps! keep that your focus for now and get thru the holidays. then everything else will work itself out.... whatever the outcome.

Yes, it would have been really funny had you answered the phone. I was confused at first because I was expecting UPS, so I hung up.... but then I realized that it was your number, and oh man I was cracking up!! Like I said, a total ditz!! you would have been laughing at me for sure!! =D

but now you realize that your disks are probably lost! :( I wanted you to have them to cheer you up!

Thanks Dire. I hope your family has a wonderful Christmas. Nice to see you've been so active trading. I've traded w/ several of those folks and also extend a big holiday thank you to all of them.

ALSO, to those I have not traded w/, maybe next year! Right?

Too cool. I found LMA forum in 2006. Something very positive to reflect on as the old year fades and the new one emerges...
